Adhering to the aboriginal proverb, "touch the earth lightly" famously quoted by world renowned Australian architect Glenn Murcutt we do everything in our power at Matthew Cohen Fine Furniture to use only the most environmentally conscious materials. This is achieved by using Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) approved lumber whenever possible and by using glues and finishes that are environmentally responsible. The lumber that I use comes from trees many times older than myself and it is out of respect for those trees that I take great care and time in crafting pieces that will last even longer than the trees lifetime.
